DESCRIPTION:We’re starting a monthly fly tying social at River’s Edge Restaurant at the Tumwater Valley Golf Course the 4th Tuesday of the month. Our first get together will be Tuesday January 27th starting at 6pm. Bring your tying setup\, stories\, friends\, family\, and/or yourself and let’s keep learning and growing as fly fishers and friends.  \nWe ask that all attendants order a meal since the space is being provided with no extra cost to the club. Please be respectful of employees and other diners and be sure to “leave no trace” of hooks\, wire\, or other materials that could cause harm or damage to equipment.  \nIf you’re working on a specific pattern\, please reach out to me ahead of time and I can have tools\, materials\, and myself or another experienced tier available to help coach or demonstrate.  \nThank you and I hope to see you next Tuesday.  \nSouth Sound Fly Fishers\nVice President\nChris Tilton

SUMMARY:Monthly Outing - Change to Burfoot Park!
DESCRIPTION:Based on some early scouting reports on the Toutle River\, we have decided to go after SeaRun Cutthroat in the Sound out of Burfoot Park. High tide on Saturday should be close to 8 AM and Low tide close to 2:40 PM. Check back for further details\, but the leaders will get there between 8:30 and 9 AM. Hot soup will be available to share. We will probably meet up afterwards at the Boston Harbor Marina cafe to share a hot beverage and tales of the day.\nThis outing will require grit and determination most of us haven’t accessed in decades. But with enough layers\, hot breakfast\nand steady egos we will enjoy ourselves. The camaraderie and nature is what we’re all really here for.

SUMMARY:Monthly Outing - "Indoor Outing" Social Event
DESCRIPTION:We will be having a social club meeting on March 28th at South Bay Fire Station 8-1\, which is not our usual meeting place. See the map below.\nWe will have food\, entomology training\, casting practice\, and fly tying. \nIt’s a potluck and fun day. Inside. We’ll set up the room at 9:00 AM.  Bring whatever pot-luck item you’d like.\nMax and Diane Doerge will bring their delicious gumbo. They really know what they’re doing !\nWe didn’t organize sign-ups for types of food…. But these things always work out. Contribute as you like.   \nA head-count will really help our planning. Let me know if you plan to attend? If you didn’t think you could come\, and your plans change and on Saturday you’re available?  COME ANYWAY.    \nTraining: 10 am – 12pm. Wayne Dixon will again present Entomology. Several students missed this on March 2. This is your make-up session.\nIf people want to review some knots we taught\, or if you missed them\, we can work on those.\nLunch probably about noon – ish. \nCasting: If weather holds… This will be our first meeting at this Fire Department\, so we don’t have experience with casting here. We will assess that as we go. We will have spare rods if you don’t have one yet.\nIf you have a rod\, bring it. But don’t buy anything until you talk to us. \nFly Tying – if you ever wondered about tying\, now’s your chance. We have spare equipment\, tools\, and materials to help you tie your first fly. You may surprise yourself !
