SUMMARY:Wynoochee River Outing
DESCRIPTION:Our Outing this month will be at the Wynoochee River\, October 24\, at  Twin Bridges County Park\,29 County Farm Rd\, Montesano\,WA\nTwin Bridges County Park falls under the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife rules for the section stretching from the mouth of the river to the WDFW White Bridge access site.\nThese rules include (but not limited to) \n    Single point-barbless hooks\n    Anti-snagging rules apply\n    Retention: Salmon Daily limit 6 including no mire that 2 adults.  You must immediately release any wild (unclipped) steelhead any adult Chinook. \nFor those that would like to meet for breakfast before fishing we will be meeting at the Rusty Tractor Family Restaurant-Diner\, 602 E Young St\, Elma\, at 7:30 AM.\nIf you can’t make breakfast we plan to be Twin Bridges County Park between 8:30 – 9:00. We will get in about 3 hours on the water while the tides are at their best. \nThe primary fish that we will be aiming for will be Coho salmon\, there may be some Steelhead as well.\nYou will want to have an 8 or 9 weight rod with a sinking line or sinking leader/tip. Hook size should be 2-4. Recommended flies include Streamers (Coho Comet)\, Leeches and Clouser Minnow.

DESCRIPTION:Our Introduction to Fly Tying class will meet Mondays\, Oct 5 through Dec 7\, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM\, except Columbus Day.\nWe offer additional tips on Thursday night “lab” sessions Oct 22\, Nov 5\, Nov 19\, and Dec 3\, also 6:00 – 8:00 PM.\nClasses are held at the Oympia Center\, 222 Columbia St NW\, Olympia.\nStudents receive plenty of individual attention as they learn to tie eight flies. We can accommodate about 15 students\, limited by the room size. We like to offer a good ratio of instructors to students because we all remember learning to tie. Our instructors are very patient. Yes\, we can teach you these skills. If you ever thought. . . “?? Should I ??” Then yes\, you should. Talk to us about it. We’d love to have you join us.

SUMMARY:Fly Tying Get Together at River’s Edge
DESCRIPTION:We gather again at the River’s Edge on the 4th Tuesday of the month. Bring your materials for what you’d like to work on or if you have a pattern you’d like to share\, maybe bring some extra! \nWe ask that all attendants order a meal since the space is being provided with no extra cost to the club. Please be respectful of employees and other diners and be sure to “leave no trace” of hooks\, wire\, or other materials that could cause harm or damage to equipment. \nIf you’re working on a specific pattern\, please reach out to me ahead of time and I can have tools\, materials\, and myself or another experienced tier available to help coach or demonstrate. \nThank you and I hope to see you next Tuesday. \nSouth Sound Fly Fishers\nVice President\nChris Tilton
