August marks the return of the annual South Sound Fly Fishers family picnic. This year’s picnic will again be at Scott Lake. With the return to more normal events the club will be providing hamburgers and hotdogs for everyone. Members are asked to bring a side dish or a dessert along with the beverage of their choice. Be sure to bring chairs to relax in and a fly rod. We will have casting games and contests for distance and accuracy.
This is a family event so bring your spouse, kids, best friend, or live-in guests. We will have a social hour from 5:00 – 6:00, and the burgers and hotdogs will be ready by 6:00 pm. So come on out enjoy a cold drink and the good company of all of the South Sound Fly Fishers family. I hope to see everyone at the Scott Lake Community Park on Tuesday, August 15.
Here are the directions to Scott Lake:
Take 93rd Ave SW from either I-5 or Old Hwy 99. Turn right on Case road (coming from I-5) or left (coming from Hwy 99.) Take Case Rd south to 113th Ave SW. You will see Scott Creek Drive SW that veers to the left across 113th Ave. Stay on Scott Creek Drive until you see Scotlac Dr SW, turn left and you will see the lake and the park. If you hit the golf course you went just a little too far.
Social hour 5:00 – 6:00 PM. Grilled hot dogs and hamburgers at 6:00 PM.
