Monthly Outing – Lake Lawrence

March 15 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Meet at the Lake Lawrence Public Boat Launch, 17500 Pleasant Beach Dr SE, Yelm, Wa 98597
Flies, Rods, & Lines: 4wt or 5wt. Bring two if you have them. One for indicator fishing and one with sinking line for streamers or leeches. This lake is a 2 Pole allowed lake. However a 2 pole endorsement is required.
Be prepared to fish moderately deep with the cold weather. A slip bobber is preferred if fishing over 10’ deep but a fixed indicator is just fine. Floating line can be used to fish chironomids or balanced leeches under an indicator.
Seven-foot tapered leader and 5x or 4x tippet. Tapered leader is not necessary if you want to go straight to tippet.
Chironomid flies in olive, brown, red, black in sizes 14 and 16. Smaller balanced leeches in size 6, 8 in olive, black, black/red, brown. Scuds and backswimmers/water boatmen might be good flies too. Stripping woolly buggers with a sink 3 is effective too.

RSVP to Max if you are planning to attend: 360-790-6613 (He may have an open seat on his boat).
